 kalady is a calm and quite village situated on the banks of the holy river Periyar. With the holy footprints of St. Thomas, the apostale of Jesus Christ and as the birth place of Sree Sankara, who has given the philosophy of Advathem to the world, Kalady has been blessed by God and it is getting more importance. In 1960 March 20, a catholic church, St. George church was established. It was a dream fulfillment for late Fr. George Kochuparambil. At the beginning time of the Parish, church was a small hut. With the hardworking and unity of the parishioner, within a short time a church was established here. As the years were passing, the thought about a big and new church emerged into people.

St.George

Saint George (ca. 275/281 – 23 April 303) was, according to tradition, a Roman soldier in the Guard of Diocletian, who is venerated as a Christian martyr. In hagiography Saint George is one of the most venerated saints in the Roman Catholic Church, Anglican Church, Eastern Orthodox Church, Oriental Orthodoxy, and the Eastern Catholic Churches. He is immortalized in the tale of Saint George and the Dragon and is one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers. His memorial is celebrated on 23 April, and he is regarded as one of the most prominent military saints.

This is a online gathering center of Parisheners in kalady church especially in abroad. By this website we hope we can nourish our friendship and faith beyond the borders of countries.

At present the parish is having 623 houses and more than 3000 parishioners. With a plenty of vocations God has blessed the parish. 20 priests and 63 nuns have been from the parish and serving all over the world. Parishioners are showing more enthusiasm to participate for the religious activities. A good number of them are participating for the Holy mass everyday at 5.30 in the early morning. The parishioners are giving their first priority for a pious life. To enlighten them different associations are actively working in the parish. Thrubalasagam, C.L.C., K.C.Y.M., Vincentie Paul Society, Prayer group, Alter Boys, etc. are some of them.
